C 1 Colombo Fort

The hotel staff is excellent. They couldn't relocate us to another room (hotel fully booked) after we complained about the strong smell in our room upon arrival. They explained that they performed the legally required fumigation the day before and the spray smell had somehow stayed. They ended up moving us the next day and to compensate they gave us free drinks, a box of chocolates and even a free taxi service to the airport.

The location is near to all majaor attractions. It is near to colmbo fort bus stand and also near to colombo fort railway station (10 minutes from tuk tuk, approximately less than 2 km).very clean hostal.staff is very supportive. Money excahngers shop is situated at next door. This place is centrally located, so well known among all tuk tuk and cab drivers.you can get taxi and tuk tuk easily from this hostel.free tea and coffee in morning time. Free drinking water is also available.

Spacious family apartment was clean and very comfortable throughout. Big TV if you wanted it and a good sized fridge/freezer. AC worked well in the bedrooms and good fan in the living area. On arrival we were met by very friendly and helpful staff. The back of the 4th floor apartment had views of the historic Cargill's building. To the front of the apartment was a quiet covered roof terrace open for all residents to use for a takeout breakfast etc. and from which you could see the street below. Great location for exploring the Fort area, a walk to Galle Face Green and Pettah. Inexpensive restaurant around the corner busy with locals where we bought a breakfast, lunch and dinner. Safe storage of bags for flights later than check-out time with a washroom to use before heading to the airport and a self service kettle, tea and coffee shelf in the air conditioned reception area.

Perfectly located, decent accommodation. Nothing extra. A city hotel with comfy beds and quite (the building site opposite is not functional during night).

Pros: - Superb location, near many tourist sites and near Fort Colombo Railway Station - GOOD PRICE. - Comfortable and clean lobby, rooms, and bathrooms - Each bed is comfortable to sleep in, and has its own nightlight. - Air conditioning in the room and at the lobby is superb. - Wifi seems to work fine. - Staff are all accommodating and knowledgeable about where to go and what to do. - Because I went during one of the hottest seasons, I appreciated that they sold cold water.
